Frequently Asked Questions
How do I raise money for my favorite charity or school through GoodShortcut?
There are many powerful web tools out there that will help you surf the internet better, but we’ve innovated a new web tool that will not only help you, but giving back to the community at the same time. We’ve created a service that you can use, and help the causes you care about most. It's simple ... every time you create a short link or a “tiny URL” through GoodShortcut.com, your charity or school earns money and the more you share your link, the more money they make. Add up the money generated from all your links and those done by the millions of other people who we hope will use GoodShortcut to do the same, and together we can make a real difference to the people and causes that need funds most.
How does it work?
Let’s say you’ve found a website that you wish to share with your friends and family or even post on your profile, blogs, etc. But the link is extremely long, by using GoodShortcut.com we can create a shorter link and you can even track how many times people actually click on your links.

Once the link is generated, you can use it anyway you like. Each time someone clicks on your link, our system will show them a 17 seconds advertisement and fifty percent of the revenue generated from the advertisers is shared with the charity, school or nonprofit organization of your choosing.

How much money could this generate for my charity or school?
We estimate that each click will generate approximately $0.01 for the designated charity or school (not including users who skip the 17 seconds Ad page). It quickly adds up! The sky is the limit. The more people use GoodShortcut, the more money will be directed towards causes. There is no cap on how much money we will direct to charities.
Where does the money come from?
By showing the 17 seconds Ad page, our advertiser is willing to pay a fee to show case their products and services. At GoodShortcut, we've developed a technology to track and direct these earnings proceeds to charities. In other words, a portion of advertiser dollars (and not your own!) earned as a result of your user participation, are now passed along to the organization you've chosen to support.
Do the users ever have to pay anything?
Never! GoodShortcut provides people a way to support their favorite cause at no cost. The money comes from the GoodShortcut advertisers.
What percentage of revenue goes to the charities and schools?
GoodShortcut is a web tool with a unique social mission which involves generously giving back to charity with your participation. We direct a 50 percent of revenues (this currently equates to about a penny per click) to the nonprofits designated by our users. Please note that users who skip the 17 seconds Ad page are not included in this equation.
Do all of my links count toward donations?
All of your links will count toward donations except for the following: 1) Users who click on the link, but skip the 17 seconds Ad page; 2) Users who run a script to generate fake traffic to the Ad page and generated fraudulent use of the site.
How can I track the amount of revenue generated for my charity or school?
You can simply go to the charity section on our site, and here you'll see in the amount of money raised.
How can I see a list of all the charities in the database?
Simply click on the “Our Charities” link located at the bottom of our homepage. If the organization you would like to support is not yet in our system, please feel free to submit an application on their behalf by filling out the form on the page.
What stops people from clicking just to raise money for their charity? What is meant by fraudulent traffic?
We ask that you use this site honestly. As long as you use GoodShortcut just as you would any other short link converter tool, it's never a problem.

Fraudulent traffic includes, but is not limited to, repeated manual clicks, the use of robots or other automated query tools, etc. This will result in the user being blocked from the site and/or the charity being de-listed.

By skipping the 17 seconds Ad page, revenue will not be generated toward the nonprofit.

Can users donate to more than one cause?
Yes, of course. Users can support as many causes as they'd like. You can select the “Donate to All Charities” option when you setup your short link. This will divided up the money to all the charities in our database.
